Socialization, Gender, and Culture

by Dr. Nancy J. Fairley

Gender is a social and cultural construct. Even though gender roles vary in each society, there is some male dominance to some degree. 'Why is that?' was the main question focused on during the three weeks. This course demonstrated the pivotal role gender has in our community as well as examining how male and females socialized in their community.
