"Stars"
was the science class for people who aren't necessary interested
in science as a career. However, in the same respect, it also
applied to those who are interested in science. Astronomy is
always an interesting topic. Sometimes, it can bore people
because a lot of it deals with stars, rotations of celestial
objects, and distances to objects, but it is much, much more.
When you have a topic that generally appeals to students and
combine it with a teacher who is enthusiastic about his job, a
great combo emerges. Although the class was too early, I enjoyed
every day. It was hard to stay awake, not because of Dr. Cain,
but of the time. However, I managed. With the ways that he mixed
his lessons from slide shows, the internet, chalkboard, and
visual aids, the class seemed more interesting. Because of this,
my peers and myself were able to stay awake better and the class
seemed to fly by. Although I know I do not want to do much with
science when I pick a major, the class was informative and I
enjoyed it. It involved more math than I had imagined and the use
of conceptual knowledge to draw conclusions. Definitely one to
take if you are even semi-interested in science.
